21^st December 2022 – THE STRAND IMPROVEMENT SCHEME

The trial of the pavement widening scheme was very controversial.   We promised to publish the results on which the decision not to proceed was made.  The letter from Devon Highways is long and detailed. It explains the process and that the decision not to proceed was supported by Councillor Martin Wrigley and Councillor Alan Connett.  Disappointing for the Parish Council, which was attempting to make a safer route through the village for pedestrians at the expense of a small extra delay for traffic.  However the other changes do seem to have helped to slow traffic as it enters the village.  JFH
