Public Participation at Council Meetings
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION at Council Meetings is usually straightforward with few residents attending. On the other hand it can be packed out when a specific matter grabs the attention. We have moved our Council Meetings from the second Monday of each month to the second Tuesday. This enables us to meet earlier and give more time to residents. We get there at 7.00pm and the meeting starts at 7.30pm so that Councillors are around to talk to prior to the formal part of the meeting. The first 10 minutes (at least) is for residents to raise formal matters of concern. The process is detailed in the document PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AT COUNCIL MEETINGS which can be seen under Policies and Procedures on the Council website.
